Infertility Research Study
What is the study?
The
study is being done by a physical therapist. It uses
gentle hands on techniques (over the abdomen) to
mobilize scar tissue, tight connective tissue in the
pelvis, and drain lymph nodes. The theory is that tight
connective tissue (which surrounds and supports the
uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries) can be a cause of
infertility in some women because it can alter the
position of the uterus, compress blood vessels and alter
hormone production. Congested lymph nodes can also
contribute to the problem by not allowing waste products
to be removed from the tissues. In cases which scar
tissue (from previous infections, trauma, surgery or
endometriosis) or congested lymph nodes could be
contributing to the inability to conceive, a hands-on
approach to treatment could help.
